At Black Canyon City Water Improvement District, our goal is to provide safe, clean, sparkling water to all of our residents! Please check back, as we will be adding more information soon.
The Black Canyon City Water Improvement District (BCCWID) is a non-profit Special Taxing District located in the rural community of Black Canyon City, geographically located within the county of Yavapai, Arizona. It is more specifically a Domestic Water Improvement District that has operated in the town since it's formation in 1986. The BCCWID serves approximately 2/3 of the town's residents and is owned by the property owners within the District.
Operation is normally overseen by an all-volunteer Board of five (Chair, Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, and one Member-at-Large), which is responsible for contracting with a management teams who staff the office and operate the District's water delivery systems. Office management maintains the District's records. Additionally the field operations team includes a Grade II operator and the necessary staff to maintain the system, make emergency repairs, and solve other day-to-day problems as they arise.
Living in the Sonoran desert, the possibility of loss of water service due to drought conditions is always a major concern. Fortunately our wells are located on the major Agua Fria River aquifer. The domestic water it provides is supplied by three well sites, two owned and one leased (soon to be replaced by a New well).
The Board members and Management of the Black Canyon City Water Improvement District, are dedicated to assured delivery of quality water that meets, or exceeds, all county, state, and federal requirements to every user within the Water District boundaries. We believe in superior service for our customers and competitive rates for our product. Whenever possible required capital improvements will be revenue financed. We ask that all Owner/Users help protect our water resources by learning to practice conservation methods as much as possible to help safeguard our way of life and our community's future.
